Daytona Road Course FRL (Fasturd Racing League)

Here are some screen shots of the new version for SSCA Racing in 2006

SSCA and Fasturd Racing Team logos were added to the infield, the pit and victory lane area were

updated and a ferris wheel was added.

The new Turn 3 with wider, and flattened out rumble strips. The new asphalt is flatter and wider.

Coming out of Turn 3 is a run off area that leaves a little more racing room than before, but be careful

not to swing out too wide, too early, or you will find the new bump in the rumble strip between Turn 3

and the service road entrance.  Also, the fence and bleachers were moved quite a ways back

(more left in this picture) to more accurately reflect the infield area.

New and corrected distance yardage makers are on the track at every corner, and our new ferris wheel.

I couldn't find the author's name, but this ferris wheel was taken from Sunsky and repainted to match a

little more closely the actual ferris wheel at Daytona.

Some new custom signs were created to give credit to some of the folks that continue to support sim

racing with their time and money. Fasturd Racing League got a plug because that is Foz's home league

and he did all the updates, SSCA got a sign for providing such a great racing experience, and SimGear

got a sign for their tremendous support of SSCA races via sponsorship a few times a year in the biggest

racing events by SSCA.  A great product that DOES make a difference in the serious racers results.

SAFER barriers now line the wall of the track.. Again, I couldn't find the author's name, or a read me file,

but these were taken off the Daytona 2006 track.

A reworked bus stop has the entry and exit points more smooth, and gentle.  However... try to cut these

corners and you WILL regret it.  To take some of the heat off the admins, I created built in penalties for

cutting the grass... namely, I put in bumps and jumps that will upset the car to the point that if you do it often,

one of those times you will hit it just  wrong and wreck your car.  And, I put in gravel instead of grass to

slow the car downs.  Graphically it looks like grass.. but the physics are not flat and safe.  If you are not

keeping 2 tires on this track at all times, you are seriously asking for trouble.

Another shameless plug for SSCA... I hope that this track is very widely used..... I hope that it becomes

the new defacto standard for road course racing at Daytona.. and as such, hope that there are folks out

there that see some of these signs and say.. hmmm.. wonder what that is... and come look us up..

Nothing would be better than growing our little SSCA family even more by adding some new quality teams

 that love road course racing.

One other area that received a lot of work was the exit from the infield section of the track, back out onto

the main part of the track.  This area of transition is now smooth as a baby's bottom.. the big bump

hitting the banked area is gone...
